Switchgear for bulk and solids: A solution for every challenge

RF IS FL wireless inductive sensors

Dust, damp, vibrations, abrasive goods, explosive zones: the demands made on switchgear by bulk and solids handling are as versatile as they are complex. At the Powtech 2026, steute Controltec will be showing how these challenges can be reliably overcome using tailor-made switches and sensors.

The focal point at the fair will be mechanical and plant engineering solutions that guarantee a high degree of availability, while at the same time opening up new levels of constructional, installational and operational freedom. These solutions include RF IS FL wireless inductive sensors, as well as the RF 97 series. The RF IS FL facilitate precise and reliable position monitoring, even in challenging industrial environments. Wireless signal transmission reduces installation and cabling costs, and also increases the flexibility of the mechanical construction. The RF 97 series includes not only the universal transmitter, but also position switches, command devices and pull-wire switches. Users profit from versatile and flexible solutions for the wireless transmission of switching and status signals in all kinds of machines and plants.

Besides tried-and-tested solutions, in Nuremberg steute Controltec will also be looking ahead to future developments in industrial wireless technology. Prototypes from the new RF 99 wireless position series will be presented for the first time. This robust series has been developed especially for challenging outdoor and heavy-duty applications and will expand the range of steute solutions for extreme environments.

At the steute Controltec booth, visitors to the Powtech will see how state-of-the-art switching and sensor systems contribute to high plant availability even in adverse ambient conditions. Using real-life demonstrations, our experts will show how reliable monitoring and safe machine operation can be realised in extremely dusty environments, damp conditions, corrosive situations or with abrasive materials. The focus will also be on applications that have to meet special requirements for dust explosion protection and machine safety.

One thing is obvious: many tasks have not just one solution, but different potential solutions. Depending on the application, they can include electromechanical switches or non-contact sensors, cabled systems or wireless solutions, safety switches or solenoid interlocks. Users profit from an extensive portfolio that can be flexibly adapted to the requirements in question.

An additional focal point at the fair will be the STM 515 solenoid interlock series. This compact and robust series is available in both an "Ex" variant for dust Ex zones and an "Extreme" variant for particularly harsh environments. This makes it suitable for applications that require guaranteed reliability and safety even in adverse ambient conditions.

Additional exhibits at the fair will be solutions for the monitoring and safeguarding of conveyor systems. Selected heavy-duty switches, including emergency pull-wire switches and wireless belt alignment switches, will be presented using a conveyor belt model. This steute Controltec demonstration for conveyor technology clearly shows how safety, plant availability and low maintenance can all be targeted and improved.
